Case Study
In collaboration with Very Good Creative Agency
Client
Step One
Studio Renders
We worked in collaboration with Very Good Creative Agency to provide Flex Radio with new high quality photorealistic 3d renders of their high end ram radio
receiver. These renders were to be used in a new branding campaign.
The client provided STEP files for the item and we got to work cleaning up any issues with the file and updating it to the newest version.
We then created studio renders with transparent backgrounds as the first step, this is a very versatile deliverable which can be used across all channels and
provides the base foundation for displaying the product in almost all advertisement assets.

Step Two
Aurora Scene
The main design style for the project centered around visuals showing a blue / green aurora, hence the product name. So we experimented within Blender for a while to create these aurora scenes with the goal of creating some exciting visuals for advertisement.
Initial Aurora Sky Renders
We decided these images were a bit too distracting and didn't sit right with the product floating, however it was a great experience creating the aurora sky inside blender, we used geometry nodes to create this effect which allowed us to have 100% control over the colours and direction of the night sky, we then used a procedural texture for the stars and some night fog.

Final Aurora Renders
We finished with a result which was more minimalistic, but it was still effective, we focussed a lot on creating coloured reflections on the product that matched the gradient backgrounds.

Step Three
Using animation to display key features
The next and final step was to create a collection of shots of the product that were animated, focussing on the key selling points of the products design, such as the animated logo and the engraving detail. These shots needed to keep the same aurora design style as the renders so we used the same black, green and blue gradient backgrounds but this time we animated them to match the lighting and the camera motion.
We lined the clips up with a suitable soundtrack in the video below but the final output was split up into a seperate video with captions and other footage, which you can check out here, we were not involved with the video editing for this video, we only provided the cgi shots. - https://www.flexradio.com/aurora
