Behind the Scenes
Our work with Kendamil involved some complicated 3D including virtual grass and clouds. See below some of the behind the scenes of the 3D scenes used in this collaboration.
Virtual Clouds
For a certain shot we had to set the product up in the sky with clouds.
There are a few methods for creating clouds in Blender, for this project we experimented with a few to ensure we could have the best result for this scene.
For the final output we have simple obects morphed into cloud like shapes, a displacement modifier with a cloud texture applied to it. We could then change around the paraments of the displacement texture to get the required fluffiness of the clouds.
The material of the cloud was also super important for this we use the Blender principled volume with the density increased so that we could have some visible shadows on the clouds
For the final output we have
Lighting
Lighting is very important for a realistic result. In this shot the clouds need to display shadows because the idea was to have the product feel like it was nestled in the clouds. Without shadows on the clouds it wouldn't feel like the tub was placed on the cloud.

Although in the real clouds dont have this many shadows this close up, it's important to strike the balance of photorealistic and keeping the story telling and brand themes for the images alive. This product being nestled in a bunch of fluffy clouds is represented of how soft and comforting the product is.
We achieved harsh shadows on the clouds via spot lights with cloud textures to add some variation, we use multiple lights in the scene to light different clouds from many angles. We then also had to ensure that the product is lit in an appealing way
Post Production
We always like to keep post-production to a minimum, for these clouds images we just increased some paraments in photoshop such as contrast and vibrancy. Most importantly we increased the textured to increased the shadows and detail on the clouds.
