FULL INTERACTIVE 3D PRODUCT CONFIGURATOR
With a full 3d product viewer your customizer can move around the entire 3D model. Usually completed in solid colour studios such as the one above. With either hotspots or a menu for customers to select their options. From here we can add a direct add to cart button to streamline the buying process.
IMAGE BASED 3D PRODUCT CONFIGURATOR
What's the difference? In this case the customer can not freely interact with the 3D model, rather a variety of still images are shown when each product option is selected. This does not necessarily make this method less effective, with image based customizers you can display the product in detailed lifestyle scenes and allow your customer to view each of the options in this environment.
The creation of 3D product configurators can be split into 3 sections.
1) 3D Modelling and Texturing
In this section we will prepare your 3d model by using poly modelling to create a smooth and accurate to scale model of your product. We will use real life photos or sketches of your product to create this. Once the model is complete we will apply realistic textures according to the real life item.
2) Lighting / Scene setup
In this section we will create the scene that the 3D viewer will take place, most of the time this will be white studio setup, however objects and props can be added. If we are building an image based configurator this section will include building a photorealistic lifestyle scene using pre-asset or custom 3D models and using our advanced knowledge of lighting techniques to create a premium feel
3) Integration
In this last section we will help integrate the configurator to your site. Using HTML code you can add this anywhere on your site or product listing page. If creating a image based customizer we will provide the relevant high quality images to apply to your product listing.
